Aiming to develop a structured packaging solution for the Louis Vuitton Cologne & Experience project I was able to simultaneously provide a modern, immersive experience and encapsulate the brand's historic legacy. Inspired by Louis Vuitton's history as a luxury travel trunk manufacturer, I endeavored to translate the brand's legacy and craftsmanship into a high-end cologne packaging that not only safeguards the product but also narrates a tale of exclusivity, sophistication, and travel. Initially, the design process involved conducting research on Louis Vuitton's visual identity, materials, and history. The LV monogram's immutable prestige, the craftsmanship of the brand's iconic trunks, and the adventurous essence of luxury travel were the three primary topics of my attention. From that point forward, I devised a concept that reimagined the traditional trunk in a more refined and compact manner. The structured rigid box was adorned with premium leather textures, metallic accents, and engraved coordinates, which served as a representation of a voyage through time and space. As the design developed, I refined the details to guarantee a harmonious equilibrium between functionality and luxury. The final execution demonstrated a rigid box imitating a minature version of the timeless travel trunks the brand started out with. The box introduces a seamless foam-cut interior, a latch-and-lock opening system, and an embossed monogram pattern. While retaining the essence of the travel trunk, a secondary tier introduced a customized version for specific cologne lines presenting a minimalist design that incorporated vintage map motifs printed on the interior fabric to reinforce the brand's connection to exploration and the aesthetics of dedicated location for the specific cologne. I extended the concept to include an experiential retail display in addition to packaging. Drawing inspiration from airport travel, I developed a concept for a pop-up experience at LAX that allowed consumers to interact with the product through a life-sized cologne container showcase, a product reveal inspired by a baggage belt, and a passport-style departure stamp station. The act of purchasing a fragrance was transformed into a luxury travel-inspired voyage. In this project, I investigated the intersection of branding, narrative, and user experience, guaranteeing that every aspect from the materials to the presentation reflected Louis Vuitton's timeless identity. The final result was a packaging and retail experience that embodies sophistication, exclusivity, and adventure, as it successfully blends contemporary luxury with history.
